Variety for salad purposes, early ripening, from germination to the first ripe tomatoes - 90-105 days. Plant of determinant type, bush height from 60 centimeters, in open ground, 120-150 centimeters under the film. The bush has a medium foliage, which makes it easier to grow under film. No thickening occurs, the sheet does not have to be removed.

In the greenhouse, the bush is formed into 1-2 stems, pinned and tied. The yield of tomato Gardener under the film is very high, from 11 to 14 kilograms per square meter... Such a fabulously rich harvest can be obtained due to the extended ripening of the fruit. It lasts from mid-July until frost.

Yields are excellent outdoors. Most of the salad varieties are limited to a maximum of 4 kilograms, and our Ogorodnik has 5.5 or even as much as 6 kilograms per square meter.

Fruit

• Bright red tomatoes with smooth shiny skin have a classic shape and great taste. Firm, fleshy, sweet. The aroma is pleasant, unobtrusive.
• Seed chambers are not multiple, unexpressed. There are few seeds.
• Lined tomatoes, weighing from 250 to 300 grams. If desired, you can grow giant fruits - in a brush of 5 or 6 fruits, remove several ovaries, allowing all the nutrients to pass into the remaining tomatoes.

"Ogorodnik" is an excellent salad variety, at the same time it is stored for a long time and tolerates transportation well. Surplus products can be processed into a variety of canned food and juice. Solids in juice are not less than 5.5%, sugar - up to 4%.

Growing

The Ogorodnik variety is grown in a way that is universal for all tomatoes of the determinant type.

The tomato needs to form a bush, pinch and tie. It should be noted that tomatoes grown in the open air are inferior to greenhouse ones in yield, but the taste of fruits grown under the sun is much better.

Regular watering and feeding improves tomato quality and yield.

To increase yields in greenhouses, you can arrange containers with liquid manure. The fact is that nitrogen from the air is well absorbed by leaves and stems. This measure will replace foliar feeding.

Diseases and pests

Ogorodnik's immunity is very good. He is not afraid of late blight, fusarium, stolbur and the tobacco mosaic virus.

Tomatoes were brought to our region from distant America. Most of the tomato pests live in their homeland.

Only the Colorado potato beetle got to us. But he eats only young plants with pleasure. After planting in open ground, treat the seedlings with any insecticide.
